TitlePomarium Feuars Association, Perth
HistoryThe Pomarium area of Perth was outside the scope of the 1811 and 1819 Perth Police Acts which, among other things, provided for the upkeep and cleansing of streets and pavements within Perth. In 1813 a meeting was held by the feuars of Pomarium to consider the repair of streets, and in 1815 the feuars set up the Pomarium Feuars Association to deal with matters such as paving and lighting. Each feuar paid a sum of money towards the upkeep of the streets in the area. The association was disbanded in 1871 when the Police Commissioners for Perth took over the responsibility for the streets of Pomarium.
