TitleUnited Diocese of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane
HistoryThe United Diocese of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane is one of the seven sees in the Scottish Episcopal Church. The diocese has a considerable history: its existence can be traced back to at least the 9th century. St Andrews was once an archbishopric claiming primacy over medieval Scotland and became a bishopric in 1704. In 1776 the diocese of Dunblane joined with Dunkeld and they merged with St Andrews in 1837 creating the United Diocese. The see includes most of the county of Angus, the counties of Perthshire and Kinross, Clackmannanshire and the Kingdom of Fife.
